Changing the negative stigma around firearms is not a small task; advocating for the wide acceptance of gun sports is even harder.

I have always loved guns, I didn’t grow up hunting, but I definitely played my share of Cowboys and Indians / Cops and Robbers! My parents were not the most gun friendly parents and we grew up in a neon green Nerf Gun only household (who hasn’t had a neon green toy gun?!)

As soon as I turned 21 I bought my first handgun. A bersa thunder 9mm. I think I took it to the gun range before even taking it out of the box! I was so excited. I had never fired a real gun before! Shooting a real gun was exhilarating! I emptied my 100 count box of 9mm ammo and looked up at my target for the 101st time, and sighed… I wanted more…

I started researching gun sports and fun shooting activities and that’s when I found AIRSOFT. I fell in love HARD. You mean to tell me I get to shoot and run around and my targets can actually shoot back?? Sign me up!

AIRSOFT FULL-AUTO IS BORN

My love for Airsoft grew quickly, I started buying more Airsoft rifles and pistols, I loved RIFs (Realistic Imitation Firearms). Then one day it happened… My mom found my stash of rifles while visiting my apartment! She freaked out, but didn’t say a word. Later that week I got a text asking if everything was ok… and If I needed to talk to someone about the guns. Ha!

After what seemed like an Hr I finally finished explaining to her that they were only “Toy Guns” and that guns were not so bad anyway! At that moment I realized that I would not let my love for guns be dictated by how my family felt about firearms.

I started Airsoftfullauto with two buddies of mine who are now gun enthusiasts, and decided to make it my mission to make guns awesome again! we decided that we will make it a goal to introduce as many people as we can to the wonderful world of airsoft!

Ask any true Airsofter and you’ll quickly learn that introducing gun shy people to airsoft is difficult, but explaining Airsoft to someone who has never heard of it is damn near impossible. Most conversations go something like this: “Yeah they look like real guns, no they are not real guns, yes we shoot eachother with it, when you are hit you have to say “hit”, yes it really does hurt…no you cant… you know what never-mind!”

Now we all show our love for airsoft everyday and occasionally get the angry snarl from soccer moms as we wear our AR-15 t-shirts and Camo pants! So far I personally have changed my family’s perception of guns and most of my close friends now play Airsoft, and of course they think its Awesome, because frankly it IS!
